Halle Berry Was Ready to Play Storm in Deadpool & Wolverine But Ryan Reynolds Never Called

X-Men star Halle Berry was ready to play Storm in Deadpool & Wolverine but Ryan Reynolds never called.

The film was full of lost Marvel characters including the titular Wolverine, of course, who was played by original X-Men actor Hugh Jackman. But few other major players from those films made an appearance, not even Patrick Stewart as Professor X or Berry as the weather wielding Storm.

"No," Berry replied simply when asked by ComicBook if she was asked to reprise her role for Deadpool & Wolverine, even though Reynold's wife asked her about it personally. "Blake [Lively] asked me one time — I ran into her at a Marc Jacobs fashion show — and she said, 'Would you ever be in my husband's movie as Storm?' I said, 'Yeah, if he asked me,' but he never asked me."

Berry's X-Men career started alongside Jackman's in the original film from 2000. She then played the character in X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, and X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Deadpool & Wolverine still saw plenty of success without Storm's appearance as it crossed $1 billion at the global box office in its third weekend available.

In IGN's 7/10 review, we said: "Deadpool & Wolverine is a hilarious superhero buddy comedy full of surprising, self-referential MCU humor and unsurprising plot and pacing problems."
