Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting have released a new teaser trailer for the latest entry in Damien Leone’s horror franchise, Terrifier 3.
The trailer for the cult-hit series gives viewers a minute of footage that undeniably fits in with the previous two films. That means more standout practical horror effects, eerie music choices, and yet another appearance from David Howard Thornton’s Art the Clown. This time around, Art is here to steal Christmas, and he’s even brought a blood-red Santa Claus suit to wear while dismembering his victims.
Terrifier 3 is Christmas-themed, but some of the shots shown in today's trailer also reveal a few other non-holiday kills for audiences to look forward to. It’s also not releasing around the winter season and is instead scheduled to come in the fall, as the footage promises plans to premiere October 11, 2024. A description for the film says fans can expect to see Art unleash chaos on Miles County on Christmas Eve.
Leone’s Terrifier franchise has quickly carved out a place for itself in horror history. The original film premiered in 2016 and was praised for Thornton’s performance and its creative gore. These elements were carried over and, for some, even better in its 2022 sequel, Terrifier 2. Terrifier 3 presents an opportunity to give Art some new toys to play with while still giving fans more horror to gush about this Halloween season.
We enjoyed Terrifier 2 and gave it a 7/10 in our review upon its release. At the time, we said, “Terrifier 2 is the pinnacle in terms of indie slasher kills sequences, which are more than appealing enough to please genre fans despite the film’s other lacking elements.”
